Black Hammer was asked to develop a series of Flash Templates for an interactive visualization of GIS data, to be deployed in Kiosks located in the earth science galleries of a major museum located in New York City.
Black Hammer developed the project so that the interface could be deployed on either the web or in-gallery kiosks via an XML configuration file. For each of the Flash templates, an XML file contains links to the visualization media, parameters for the UI controls, arrays of data for the graphs, graph parameters, text and links to supplementary information (text and photos for pop-up windows).
Black Hammer worked with the museum to define the contents and format of the XML. We then designed the interface and navigation widgets, programmed the Flash components and implemented GIS data sets and the text and media contents provided by the museum.
