New York Public Library
Black Hammer Productions was chosen to create the media retrieval system for the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' newly renovated Lincoln Center home. The new system streamlined the media request process by allowing users to create "Virtual Call Slips" for print and media materials from computer terminals within the Library. Bar code technology allows the librarians to recall and review and forward them to the proper divisions for fulfillment. Using a powerful SQL Server back-end, the system can also generate a variety of reports so that library administration can monitor request and return volume and user demographics.
"Black Hammer is proud to take part in the renovation of one of the City's most loved cultural institutions," says Black Hammer President Matthew Schlanger. "Artists from every discipline use this library for information and inspiration. And anyone with the interest and a library card can take things out from the circulating collection. It's one of those rare places that serves the general public and the professional audience equally well."
